Summary/Abstract: In his preface to the reader the former Chairman of the National Assembly Yordan Sokolov writes: "After manifestations of corruption and organized crime in Bulgaria were virtually tolerated for a long time due to taking only half-hearted measures, the fight against these criminal manifestations has become a priority task of the legislative and executive after the changes which took place in early 1997." The reader includes the main acts for countering corruption of the Council of Europe, the European Union and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The great interest sparked by the reader affirms its usefulness, especially within the context of the harmonization of domestic legislation with European law.
