Summary/Abstract: Drawing the line between political education and indoctrination is extremely difficult in any country. In Germany, for years, the scope of education - for historical reasons - has been widely discussed at the federal and state levels. Today, the goal of political education is primarily to shape a responsible and mature citizen (mündiger Bürger), who understands the processes taking place in the modern world, is able to draw independent conclusions from the changes taking place, and above all, is ready to participate in the political life of the country.
