Summary/Abstract: The adventures of the spaceship Enterprise and the social consequences of its reception represent a relevant topic and, moreover, an indispensable reference in numerous scientific and philosophical discussions. Insisting on the philosophical potential of science fiction as an embodied "thought experiment", Krstić lays out the topos of Star Trek that they share with "eternal" metaphysical questions and offers a comprehensive account of their contribution to a different elucidation of the problems that weave around them. Whether it is about the relationship between science and fiction, the predictability of the future, the racial and colonial discourse of science fiction visions or the moral questioning of the appearance of the human species, the thematization indicates the capacity of Star Trek to confront us with contemporary epistemological, ethical and metaphysical dilemmas.
