Summary/Abstract: Ukraine. Postcolonial syndrome is a collection of the most important essays by Mykola Riabczuk from recent years, which have been published in the Polish press. The author of the "two Ukrainians" concept attempts to answer the questions about today's Ukraine as a reference point, taking a post-colonial perspective. It raises current, important and sometimes difficult subjects - the Ukrainian tear between East and West, political problems related to the heritage of Russian colonialism and their relationship with culture or the question of Stepan Bandera. It also refers to current events, such as protests at Majdan. As stated in the preface to the Polish edition, the author, postcolonial syndrome is "sketches concerning not only Ukrainian-Russian relations, but also Ukrainian-Ukrainian (Ukrainian-" Creole "); articles devoted not only to political problems related to colonialism and its heritage, but also - in the first place - cultural problems (in the broadest sense of the word) and psychological problems. " Scientific reliability in combination with journalistic flair makes the book appealing to both specialists and anyone interested in contemporary Ukraine.
