Summary/Abstract: This volume discusses the Netherlandish panel painting and graphics of the era of van Eyck, van der Weyden, Memling and Bosch. It presents original functions of paintings and their religious messages, it follows the technical procedures as well as the workshop and commercial strategies of the painters, it reveals the stereotypes and myths built around the works of masters.
