Summary/Abstract: Since the beginning of 2009, Russian-US relations have been undergoing an important transformation, which has the shorthand expression of the ‘reset’. This paper is intended to present the essence of the changes which have taken place in relations between Moscow and Washington over the past two years, and to analyse the prospects for the further development of these changes. The United States is still the most important point of reference in the Kremlin’s foreign and security policy; thus the shape of Russia’s relations with the USA will affect its general behaviour on the international stage.
