Summary/Abstract: The publication devoted to Liszt’s piano works in the light of the correspondance des arts idea is a pioneering achievement in Poland, which enriches the research concerning foreign sources, mainly French and English ones. The cultural context of the period and the commentaries on literature works explore culture of 19th century France. The book contains a cultural description of the period, commentaries on literary works, which inspired Liszt, analyses of his writings and piano works as well as numerous note examples and artist’s portraits.
