Summary/Abstract: The book is devoted to the theoretical and aesthetic reflections of the three most eminent representatives of the musical avant-garde of the 1950s: John Cage, Pierre Boulez and Karlheinz Stockhausen. He presents the aesthetic awareness of Cage, Boulez and Stockhausen. The author analyses the concept of “musical avant-garde” in historical perspective.
