Summary/Abstract: The study “Stadiums of the World. Between Gemenischaft and Gesellschaft” attempts to present a multidimensional picture of the social and culture changes that characterise the microcosm of modern football as part of the postmodern world. Referring metaphorically to the classic categories of Ferdinand Tönens (Gemeinschaft – community, tradition, personal loyalty versus Gesellschaft – joint stock company, contract, material benefits) the author tries to outline a paradigmatic framework (as understood by S. Huntington), which offers a slightly deeper analysis of the events and phenomena of the football universe. The methodology adopted in the paper refers mainly to Erving Goffman’s concept, which allows for an unconventional justification of the choice of the analysed materials and research sample.
