Summary/Abstract: The book is devoted to the history of physics at the University of Warsaw, for almost a century linked with the building at 69 Hoża Street. In their stories, participants of many important events related to, among others, such outstanding figures famous for their internationally acclaimed discoveries as Aleksander Jabłoński, Marian Danysz, Jerzy Pniewski, Andrzej Trautman or Marek Pfützner recollect their scientific work against a broad background of Polish history. The volume contains the texts by forty four authors and covers the period from the beginning of the Faculty of Physics to the present day, already in the new seat at 5 Pasteur Street.
