Summary/Abstract: “Script for physical limnology workshops” describes the basic issues concerning processes and phenomena occurring in lakes; referring to among others chemical and physical parameters of lake waters, dynamics of water masses, and morphological-geological conditions of their functioning. Due to the broad scope of the research, the discipline benefits from methods developed by climatology, geology, physics, chemistry, etc. The script is primarily addressed to students of environmental majors. It also points to ways of solving selected research problems through designated example tasks. This knowledge provides the basis for further detailed and frequently interdisciplinary studies of lake ecosystems.
