Summary/Abstract: Problems in Teaching of Mathematics in Engineering Specialities at Nikola Vaptsarov Naval AcademyThe article analyzes the problems in teaching of mathematics of the students and cadets from the computer and marine engineering specialties. The usefulness of mathematics for the formation of professional competences in these specialties and its importance for the future professional career of the trainees are indicated. The experience of the teachers and the difficulties they had to overcome is shared. There are given some recommendations for improving the teaching process in order to increase the motivation and effectiveness of mathematics education.
