Summary/Abstract: The impossibility of forming a government in Bulgaria does not allow solving urgent problems with Skopje. Although Bulgaria‘s position remains unchanged, it is evolving and the tone is sharpening. Macedonian leaders, for their part, are also not acting to cheer. European pressure on the issue is unilaterally directed against Bulgaria and has a destructive effect on bilateral relations. The prospects are unclear, and the current factors in the relations between the two countries can lead to a negative trend.
