Summary/Abstract: Action or inaction, wrongdoing, damage, causation (the relationship between the action or inaction and the damage), and fault are the four components that make up the complicated legal concept of tort liability. The author discusses the concept of fault and its contemporary importance in the legal system, as well as the recent developments in tort liability in the European Union and the conditions necessary for its incorporation into Bulgarian law.
