Summary/Abstract: Over the past two years, the global transport sector has been hit hard by two major crises — the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia‘s military aggression against Ukraine. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a serious impact on society, including the transport sector. The lack of coordination between national measures further affected the transport sector, making cross-border transport more difficult, often exacerbating the effects of the initial shock on people and the economy. (European Commission, 2022) The war in Ukraine is yet to show its impact. The most significant factor affecting the transport sector is the increase in the price of oil, as a result of the sanctions imposed by the European Union on Russia.
