Summary/Abstract: The report presents new realities faced by the political system of the European Union in the modern world. Economic crises, an aging European population, escalating military conflicts, some near the external borders of the Union, an influx of immigrants from weaker economic States, cybersecurity, pandemics, etc., are a small part of the problems that will be addressed at the European level in the future. The Lisbon Treaty, which has been in force for more than a decade, introduced significant improvements in the way European institutions function that they can meet the new challenges of an ever– globalizing world. To make the EU more competitive in the world’s economic powers, a more safety and secure place to live, European integration should be strengthened and move to the creation of a new Treaty on the functioning of the Union, gives more powers to European institutions. The Euro parties, The European Commission and the whole political system from Brussels should find a management model, supporting the European Union in the fight against new world realities. The advantages that would occur for the community after changing the main EU Treaty that determines the activity and its way of functioning are also noted. A number of proposals were made for improvement of the European institutions activities of and for development of the European integration.
