Summary/Abstract: Mutual relations of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (Great Britain) and the Czech Republic were at a very good level in 2015. An important con-text of the bilateral relations was the question of the European Union direction and particularly the role of Great Britain in the European Union, which resonated mainly in relation to the general elections in the House of Commons of the British Parliament from the beginning of May 2015. Another question which gained the attention of all EU countries, including the Czech Republic, was the referendum on Great Britain remaining in the Union, which had been promised by the Chairman of the Conservative Party, David Cameron, in 2013 in case his party won the elections and formed the government. Despite the pre-election survey, the Conservatives managed to receive the majority of votes and built a unified government. Mr. Cameron then commenced the debate on possible reforms in the European Union in the context of the promised referendum. The accurate date of the referendum was not defined during 2015; however, the supporters and the opponents of the British membership in the EU commenced their campaigns.
