Summary/Abstract: The COVID-19 epidemic influenced the behaviour of children and adults. The state of Slovenia was adopting numerous measures to contain the spread of infections, one of the most important being the closure of educational institutions in the period from November 2020 to February 2021. During that time, primary education was provided as distance teaching which changed children's lifestyles. SLOfit research has shown that the proportion of obese children increased during school closures. In 2019, before the epidemic, 4.1% of boys and 3.8% of girls were obese, while in 2021, after the epidemic, this was the case for 5.8% of boys and 4.9% of girls. The researchers attributed the worsening of the situation to measures that prevented children from engaging in normal daily physical activity and completely changed their lifestyles (Starc idr., 2020; Jurak idr., 2021). The study aimed to find out how school meals were organised during school closures and what changes in children's eating habits might have contributed to the change in their nutritional status.
