Summary/Abstract: The article discusses Jadwiga Łuszczewska’s (Deotyma) improvised poetry performances from the point of view of the artist’s inaction. I describe Deotyma’s performances and point out external factors – historical, environmental, moral – which significantly impacted the structure of the performances, even more significantly than the artist herself. Finally, I summarise the nature of Łuszczewska’s improvised shows by naming them ‘faulty (ineffective, missed) performances’.
