The studies aimed at the factors that affect entrepreneurship usually pursued the way that the occurrence of entrepreneurial intention is explained by positive premises. This study was carried out by starting from the idea that there can be negative factors influencing the entrepreneurial intention such as hopelessness, helplessness, haplessness, and nepotism. In this context, a survey was conducted with the students from universities located in the provinces in eastern Turkey. According to the results of the study, the feeling of hopelessness and haplessness has no influence over entrepreneurial intention. It is concluded that the feeling of helplessness affects the entrepreneurial intention adversely while nepotism influences it positively. In light of the findings, some recommendations were made to decision makers.
