Summary/Abstract: Financial integration within the European Union (EU) is a complex and multifaceted economic and political process that has far-reaching implications for EU member states, economic actors and the global financial landscape. This research explores the progressive steps taken by the EU to harmonize financial markets, possible regulations and institutions, creating a single financial market known as the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU).
