Summary/Abstract: Anna Bilińska was one of the few Polish artists who exhibited and sold their works in London in the late 19th century. The article discusses her participation in exhibitions at the Royal Academy (1888, 1892) and in the pastel shows at the prestigious Grosvenor Gallery (1888, 1889, 1890). Bilińska’s pastel works (folk types, figure studies and portraits) demonstrate her mastery in dry technique, bold stylistic experimentation and understanding of the needs of the art market in London.
