Summary/Abstract: This chapter introduces the concept of sustainable finance and its underlying principles adopted by financial institutions and investors. The exploration encompasses international and European Union initiatives aiming to establish a standardised framework for sustainable finance. Strategic regulations, such the Taxonomy for sustainable activities applied in the European Union and its member states, are reviewed as well.
