Summary/Abstract: The main objective of this work is to investigate the logistic function in an organizational context and analyze the influence of logistical performance as a relevant factor for the orientation of these companies to the market and in the development of competitiveness standards with an impact on organizational performance. This relationship is investigated in the specific situation of the Portuguese industry, and for this purpose data was collected from a group of family businesses. The investigation model, derived from the formulated hypotheses, was tested using the analysis of structural equations using the partial least squares technique.
