Possible Directions for Innovations in Tourism

Summary/Abstract: In the tourism sector, the transfer of innovations from other sectors is usually observed, as innovative solutions are modified for the purposes of tourism activities. The main types of innovations in the tourism organization can be considered according to the goal they pursue, namely the achievement of economic or social efficiency. The purpose of the current development is to present the possibilities for implementing innovations in the tourism sector. In order to achieve the set goal, the innovation trajectory by which the tourist enterprise implements innovations in its activity will be examined. Based on the considered trajectory and outlined specificity in the innovation activity of tourist enterprises, the four main groups will be clarified: technical-technological innovations, product innovations, marketing innovations and organizational innovations. Real examples of implemented innovations in the tourism sector will be explored and presented.
