Summary/Abstract: The full-scale war in Ukraine has led to an increased demand for psychological services to help deal with the effects of traumatic experiences. Art therapy is one of the best methods for working with trauma, especially for children who have fewer resources and capacity to cope with the effects of trauma. The work in the art therapy studio is based on the expressive therapy model and the somatic trauma therapy model – SIBAM. Attention to children's emotional state, creating a space of trust and group support are crucial when working with trauma in children and adolescents. It is also important to offer children materials and themes to work with, bearing in mind the possibility of retraumatisation. Specific client cases and children's creative work illustrate the validity and feasibility of art therapy in working with children in war settings to overcome the effects of trauma.
