Summary/Abstract: The article examines the importance and effectiveness of the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) technique in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other consequences of war trauma in childhood. In the conditions of modern military conflicts, children, as a vulnerable segment of the population, especially need effective methods of psychological support and therapy. The authors provide an evidence base for the successful use of EMDR, including reduction of PTSD symptoms, improvement in emotional state and behavior in children who have survived traumatic events of war. The article also focuses on the need to integrate EMDR with other psychotherapy methods to achieve the best results in the treatment of childhood trauma. The results of research and practical applications of EMDR in different countries of the world confirm its effectiveness and potential as an important tool in overcoming the consequences of war trauma in children, opening the way to their psychological recovery and social adaptation.
