Summary/Abstract: In this article, we set out to carry out an analysis of the notion of „principles of public service” both in doctrinal terms and in terms of normative regulation. We also made a small foray into the evolution of the legal institution and the notion of public service principles. Particular attention was paid to the definition and enumeration of the principles of public service in both the legislation of the Republic of Moldova and Romania, and also the role that this institution has within the branch of administrative law.
