Summary/Abstract: The theme of calendar traditions was and remains current due to the contemporary, lively character of the respective popular creations. The varied and rich calendar creations continue to reflect, in an artistic way, work, living, morals, beliefs, the struggle for freedom of the people, and the better, happier life. Popular creations have always contributed, along with other artistic works, to the education of young people in the spirit of respect and love for the working man, his daily life, full of content, beautiful, useful, created and developed throughout history. Christmas, the customs of this holiday are described in the works of Mihai Eminescu, Ion Creangă, George Coșbuc, Octavian Goga, Lucian Blaga, Mihail Sadoveanu, etc.
