Summary/Abstract: The process of defining a results-driven anti-corruption policy necessitates the adoption of adequate definition of corruption. This publication extends the approach to this notion and addresses the main research areas investigating corruption as a phenomenon of contemporary political, economic and social practice. The definitions proposed in this publication are a step in the process of updating, clarifying and institutionalizing a unified commonly accepted concept of „corruption” and overcoming the existing ambiguity and arbitrary interpretation of corruption and the ineffective countermeasures against it, resulting out of its misinterpretation.
