Summary/Abstract: Presented here is an interesting snapshot of the economical achievements of Czechoslovakia based on the published memoirs of several Bulgarians, namely the poet Lyuba Kasarova, the painter and journalist Alexander Bozhinov, the historian Christo Gandev and the agronomist Esjo Bonev. They visit some of the largest coal and metallurgy factories in Ostrava and Plzen, the breweries in Plzen and Velké Popovice, the „Baťa“ factories. They also visit private and government-owned farms, a horse stable, etc. They describe their impressions from their visits, as well as some interesting social processes and phenomena that they witnessed.
