Summary/Abstract: PL: Autorka w sposób szczegółowy omawia strategie wykorzystania motywu roweru w filmach: Złodzieje rowerów (1948) Vittorio de Siki oraz Rower z Pekinu (2001) Wanga Xiaoshuai oraz analizuje stosunek bohaterów obu produkcji do dwukołowca, zwracając uwagę na ich codzienne potrzeby (narzędzie pracy) i marzenia. Tekst nie tylko bada rolę roweru jako siły napędowej akcji, ale także stara się udowodnić, że pojazd ten jest swego rodzaju aktorem drugoplanowym. Zaprezentowane zostały fabularne podobieństwa oraz różnice, jak również argumenty wykazujące zasadność zastosowania rowerowego konceptu w kontekście określonej sytuacji społeczno-gospodarczej. EN: The author details the strategies for using the theme of the bicycle in Vittorio de Sica’s film The Bicycle Thief (1948) and Wang Xiaoshuai’s Beijing Bicycle (2001), and analyzes the attitude of the main characters of both productions to these two-wheeled vehicles, focusing attention on their use for daily needs (as a tool) and fulfilling their dreams. The article not only explores the role of the bicycle as a driving force for the films’ action, but also tries to prove that the vehicle is kind of a secondary actor. Featured are similarities and differences in the plots, as well as arguments demonstrating the validity of using the concept of the bicycle in the context of a specific socio-economic situation.
