Summary/Abstract: The theoretical part the paper deals with the issues of models and modeling in logistics enterprises. The chapter gives details of the basic concept of access, i.e. the process concept of modeling and its gradual creation. The principle of modelling is a fundamental principle of the design methods of the logistics information system. The methodological procedures and properties of their tools and techniques are based on the idea that the information system is a model of the real logistics system (the real world). The creation of models is perceived as a key principle, which provides the analyst with an abstract view on the general characteristics of the project information system, unencumbered by the current state of things, applied technologies and other abstracted characteristics. The author has also touched on the issue of process maps in logistics enterprises, as well as their visual and verbal representation. It is documented by him in two case studies of logistics enterprises.
