Summary/Abstract: One of the aspects which is growing in size and importance in the contemporary world, specifically, in Europe is migration. The ‘old continent’ is flooded with ‘new people’ who were ‘far neighbors’ until recently. This paper explores the way in which contemporary migrationis dealt with by Europe, specifically European Union member countries. A significant input can be offered by the church in the migration issue, as the Bible is has to say a lot about this phenomenon. This article aims to explore these aspects as well as suggesting that migration is, more than a challenge, an opportunity of service and witness for the church.
