Summary/Abstract: The objective of this paper is to determine to what extent the banks listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) observe the regulations concerning the appointment of independent supervisory board members as well as whether the members meeting the criteria of independence are appropriately educated and have qualifications to perform their tasks on supervisory boards.
