Summary/Abstract: The recognition of the existence of links between types of migration (irregularity, shelter, displacement) but also of the different positioning of people and peoples in motion, poses challenges of conceptualization, in the present, especially around the continuities between migratory processes, since the characterization of discontinuities (the disjunction in the humanitarian debate: “if you are a migrant you are not a refugee” or “the refugees are not migrants ”), it is no longer enough. Make approach to the problem in this way, has to do, also, with a greater awareness in the academic debate, about the necessary distancing,from the social sciences, political discourse and politics, this is from the legal and political construction of the “irregular migrant” labels,"Refugee", "displaced", "undocumented", "illegal", "false applicant for asylum ”, among many others, and take on the challenge of not continuing to translate to scientific categories, sometimes indiscriminately, the categories of policies.
