Summary/Abstract: The Black Sea, as the eastern border of the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, represents, from a geopolitical point of view, a contact area of the interests of the Russian Federation with the Western world and Euro-Atlantic institutions. In the medium and long term, developments in the Black Sea security environment will continue to be dominated by complex change trends, with direct and indirect implications for Romania and implicitly for the Romanian Navy.
