Summary/Abstract: The accumulation of increasing tensions and the high doubts regarding the future cohesion of Europe results mainly from the activity of states that do not answer the demands of the economic policies imposed at the European Union level and the security challenges in the same context. As long as the European institutions establish the monetary policy for the states in the euro zone, yet the capitals of member states preserve their autonomy regarding fiscal and security responsibilities – the less wealthy members, those who are already largely indebted and have lower perspectives of growth, will develop their own security approach. The rising frustration determined by the eruptive phenomenon of migration, the slow and unequal growths and the chronic character of unemployment issues are going to stimulate phenomena such as BREXIT, nativism / nationalism and the inclination for finding national solutions to continental problems.
