Summary/Abstract: Internet marketing is also known as e-marketing, web marketing or digital marketing and is a general term for conducting marketing activities for products and/or services online as well as many other general terms. Internet marketing means different things to different people. While the obvious goal of Internet marketing is to sell products and services or to carry out promotion via the Internet, companies can communicate via the Internet, transmit or exchange messages about themselves or conduct research. Internet marketing can be a very effective tool for identifying the target market or for discovering marketing segments and their needs and desires. From a marketing point of view, social media are becoming more and more important, but many businesses are unsure whether the adoption of social media will improve the top line if there are difficulties in harmonizing marketing activities through social media with increasing sales.
