Summary/Abstract: The real and fair financial reporting is a prerequisite for further development of tourist industry on a global level. In this paper the emphasis is on the concept of quality of financial statements,with a special focus on the process of harmonization of financial reporting. Having in the mind that thetourism has become a relevant generator of a global economic development, a special part of paperanalyzes accounting regulations and financial reporting framework in the most developed countries inthe world, as well as a specificity of financial reporting of tourist industry in Serbia.
