Summary/Abstract: The paper is dedicated to the problem of gastronomic tourism in the Far Eastern Federal Districtof Russia. As this tourism area is becoming increasingly popular around the world, its influence on thecountry’s economy cannot be underestimated. The authors have attempted to evaluate the main directions fortourism development, building on the analysis of the current situation on the tourism market in Russia. Theresults of the study indicate that developing gastronomic tourism in the region should be based on organizingculinary events and festivals, in order to attract additional tourist attention to the Russian Far East.
