Summary/Abstract: In Slovakia there are three basic financial sources to finance environmental activities - own funds, the European Union funds and state budget funds. The Environmental fund (established by Act no.587/2007 coll.) presents together with the Recycling fund (established by Act no. 223/2001 coll.) one of available possibilities to finance environmental projects. This contribution deals with the analysis of fund provision and the way of their use during its almost 10-year-existence. In the context of this issue is contribution more focused on past three years. The aim of this contribution is to provide an overview of the basic legislation, the structure of revenues and expenditures of the Environmental fund, types of state support for environmental care, support conditions and procedure for support provision.
