Summary/Abstract: Currently migration in the Mediterranean Sea has risen to the top of the policy agenda. The press and the media of the EU countries are full of images of sub-Saharan African (SSA) migrants attempting to land to the EU soil. These images often focus at the end of “boat peoples” journey to Europe and more particularly at the events referring to the crossing of the land and sea borders of Turkey to Greece or Lambedusa and Italy.
