Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to outline a theory of persuasion, which is an important part of rhetoric. The Author concentrates in the first part on Aristotle’s, Cicero’s and Quintilianus’ criteria. In the second part there are several examples which illustrate the mentioned recommendations.
