Summary/Abstract: The role of emotions and feelings is still among the most popular themes in modern discussions. Emotional persuasion was well known in ancient times. Ambiguous statements; facial expression and gesticulation were important factors in personal contact. The article describes some passages from ancient historiography which refer to emotional persuasion; its role and results.
