Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to reflect on the philosophical contexts of the selected phenomena and processes in the musical culture of the Internet era. The author depicts the influence of the historical media changes, scientific discoveries and technical inventions on the development of music. Then he discusses the phenomenon of desauratisation of sound related to its electronic processing, that undermines the conventional division for the musical material and its form. Finally he interprets different reactions to this phenomenon from several contemporary artists working in the Internet medium.
