Summary/Abstract: The article aims to analyse the importance and origin of the collection Proverbele Românilor din România, Basarabia, Bucovina, Ungaria, Istria şi Macedonia [The Proverbs of Romanians from Romania, Basarabia, Bucovina, Hungary, Istria, and Macedonia] by Iuliu A. Zanne, a monument of Romanian paremiology, and to formulate theoretical considerations about the translation of paroemias. Following the model of previously published works, a series of proverbs from this collection are translated into Italian and commented.
