Summary/Abstract: The article referring to elements of rhetoric system concentrates on values present in journalistic texts. The proposed typology of genres, which by definition are affirmative or critical and occasionally critical or affirmative, complements genological classification in press studies. The article provides illustrative examples of respective forms of journalistic writing.
