Summary/Abstract: The paper aims to examine the various aspects of political confrontation between Russia and the West that commenced on the threshold of Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius. It will focus on tangible regional and integrative premises of internal policy in Ukraine as serious preconditions for the emergence of Maidan revolution. Thus, the main and central goal of the paper will be in shaping the picture of security perspectives around Ukraine. A detailed examination will follow of how much the whole Eastern European policy of security strategy depends on conflict resolution in Ukraine and how much it threatens the regional safety and sustainability. The causes and further consequences which directly impacted on the formation of geopolitical vacuum in the region will be scrutinized. Based on this analysis, there will be a comprehensive discussion on the perspectives and possibilities of an outlet from this crisis and given certain recommendations for obtaining peace resolution as to prevent further regional escalation and global confrontation between Russia and the West. The study will be conducted through a comparative theoretical analysis of stakeholders’ interviews, academic articles around these issues and other available relevant documents and protocols that were signed by the conflicting parties.
