Summary/Abstract: The article is another voice in the discussion about the main female character of Juliusz Słowacki’s drama “Mary Stuart”. Judging her deeds, interpreters propose various points of view. Some of them claim that Słowacki’s portrayal of Queen of Scots contributes to her black legend by showing her as an evil murderess. I expose her evilness as one more role she created. I want to emphasise that everything happening at the Scottish court is beyond her, so she decides to try if evil might be the answer.
